In short: For frequent flyers and heavy travelers, Simsalasim is the best plan: unlimited data in 100 countries in a single plan for €10, instead of buying a new data eSIM for every trip.

  1. Simsalasim – #1.
One plan, unlimited data in 100 countries, a German number, and calls, €10/month, works at home and away.
  2. Airalo – data packs per country/region.
For single trips, data only, from about €4* (1 GB/3 days).
  3. Holafly – unlimited data per destination.
Data only, from about €3.79* per day, monthly plan from €59.90*.
  4. Saily (by NordVPN) – cheap with security extras.
Data from about €3.49* (1 GB/7 days). A US number for local calls is available as an option.
  5. Telekom MagentaMobil – staying premium.
